Adams bloods youngsters for 2012 Finale

Chris Adams has named a 13 man squad for the final game of the 2012, the LVCC Division One match against Lancashire at Liverpool.

Young seamers Matthew Dunn and Tom Jewell  are in line for their first appearance of the season, as they look to earn a contract for 2013. It was thought that the pair were going to be released at end of the season, but maybe Adams has had a rethink and is willing to give them a chance.

One bowler that looks like he won't be here next season is Chris Jordan, who hasn't been named in the squad and with his contract running out at the end of this year, he looks like he will be off.

KP and Murali Kartik have both been rested from this game, and for different reasons, the game against Notts last week may have been their last for the club, but in the case of KP, let's hope that's not true. With his international future not decided, it isn't certain whether he will be at the Oval next season, as we will have to pay his wages if he isn't given a central contract.

Steve Davies will come back into the starting X1 after being dropped last week and being ill the week before, as Gary Wilson is preparing for the ICC World Twenty 20 with Ireland. Ansari and Burns will be given another chance at the top of the order, with Harinath trying to cement his position in the side, whether it will be at 3, or opening at the start of next season.

Other seam bowlers in the side include leading wicket taker Stuart Meaker, Jon Lewis, Tim Linley and youngster George Edwards. If I was Adams, I would feel that this is the perfect opportunity to give all the youngsters a go, so I would leave out Lewis and Meaker, and play Dunn and Edwards, with the Viscount, and bat Jewell at 7, as he is a handy batsman.

After securing our Division One status last Friday, this game doesn't have much riding on it, but 6th place is still a possibility, and the youngsters will certainly be looking to impress.

It's been an extremely tough season for us, but it is coming to an end this week, and even though it will be sad to see it go, our players deserve and need a break after all they have gone through. Good luck this week lads.
